The new DTVPal DVR digital-to-analog converter box is the first and only to offer digital video recording (DVR) and high-definition (HD) capabilities along with analog pass-through. If you have an analog TV and receive your TV broadcasts over-the-air using “rabbit ears” or some other form of antenna, you can purchase a converter box such as the DTVPal DVR or sign up with a satellite or cable provider, such as all-digital DISH Network. In addition, the DTVPal DVR features digital video recording (DVR) capabilities, eliminating the need for video cassettes and the complicated setup of your VCR. Using an on-screen program guide, you can select and digitally record up to 150 of your favorite standard definition (SD) shows, 30 hours of high-definition (HD) programming, or a combination of the two. No cassettes. No mess. It’s that simple.

Dish warrenty is non-existant. 9/28/2009 7:28:11 PM

I purchased one in january and took delivery in February. Worked as expected, but in mid September it died (not so much as a power on light). Call Dish and all they will let me do is buy a new one for full price. They over no warrenty whatsoever. Now I'm looking for a repair shop.

Works great, No monthly fees, excellent quality. Guide could be a bit better, but hopefully new firmware will improve.
